I have the stock transmission, and I'm planning on getting a turbo. I've been told a few times that the first thing to go is going to be the transmission. I HATE automatic trans, manual is much more fun in my point of view. so if i wanted to get a new transmission after the turbo is installed. what would be a good trans to get? or should i find a shop?

sell your car and buy a 5 speed with the ecotec... you'll save alot of money in the long run.

and i know a lot of people say the ecotec is better but i want at least a v6. i want it to sound like it has some balls, not that little tuner sound. idk, just my opinion

The value of the Eco is in the way it's built.
The bottom end can take around 1000 HP before it blows apart

dang haha. i would never put that much power in it anyways, im only looking to go about 400-500 hp on the 3400. which im told the bottem end can withstand.

Ecotecs from factory are good for 250 hp put forged parts in you can safely rock 400 hp with out modifing the block if you sleeve the block you good for as much as your forged rods and pistions can take, finding a forged crank can be a bit of a challenge. And they don't sound anything like rice especially with bigger cams.
