Helping a neighbor with a starter on his car... real easy to get to but one of the mounting bolts wont come out. Just turns. How a bolt is stripped on the threads and its never been taken out, Ill never know. But any ideas on getting a stripped bolt out? Ive already tried putting pressure on it while turning and theres not alot of room around the bolt to work with.

I dont even know dude. Like 2.2? Idk anything about those engines... except that the whole engine is microscopic. lol
I hope HE doesnt have to drill it out!

Its pretty old- a 96 if that helps any...

Yeah, those are pretty long bolts (same as the 3400)... Are both of them stripped?

Nahh just one. He got the first one out fine. I tried the second one with a open end 8mm and a socket. Then I tried putting pressure on the other end of the bolt while he turned the socket... to help it catch or push it out.

thats about it dill the head of the bolt off then weld a nut to the rest of the bolt to be remove..
hope this helps.

Oh, are you talking about the nut that holds on the wire to the "S" terminal? I think that's the only thing that's small enough for 8mm.

No its one of the two mounting bolts.....the one closer to the engine. He said it was 8 and it did look like 8 to me too- pretty small I know.

Yeah, should be like a 13 or 15. Or is it the bracket on the back of the starter if they're still used in that year.
