The previous owner of my car did a hack-job install of a remote start and snapped the two plastic tabs that hold the driver side A-pillar cover to the pillar. I tried gluing them back on with that special plastic welder adhesive, but it won't bond with the plastic.

Anyone know what kind of adhesive I can use on this piece?

get a gauge pod or buy a new one from the junkyard

That's only a half pillar though. I'd still need the factory cover to go under it.

You are using the wrong glue.

Go pick yourself up some CA glue. It has two parts to it. We use this stuff at the shop all the time when panels break.

ah, i've used that, slap the on on one panel, and slap the other on the other panel, and when they meet, hello steel bond

I tried CA first (although it was not a 2 part adhesive). It held the piece on, but it snapped off while installing the panel. Then I tried the plastic welder, which is a 2-part adhesive that is supposed to have solvents that soften plastics to create a bond, and it didn't even adhere to the plastic. I also tried normal 2 part epoxy with the same result. All surfaces were even fully matched and prepped.

Now I look again, that pillar is a full piece. The description on the page said it completely covered the lower portion of the A-pillar, eliminating the lower seam. I took that to mean it only covered the lower part of the pillar, and I was looking at it on my phone, so the picture seemed to look that way.

yea, I have one and can assure you its a complete replacement for the pillar, but it install with 2 screws, but are covered after installation by screw head covers. (you will need to predrill as the a-pillar frame is thick)

Now I can also check tomorrow when I go to my parents if I still have my stock pillar..neutral interior
