I'm faced with a decision... do the LIMG fix again, swap in an LD9, or get rid of the car.

Is the LD9 a direct drop-in for the 3400?

it will drop in. it uses most of the same mounts if not all. the only thing is you will need the 4t40 tranny (duh) and the PCM and BCM and wiring harness.

its a fairly simple swap, just would take a lil bit more money b/c of also needing a different tranny and wiring harness. the bcm and pcm could be found used for cheap. Imo, if i was gonna go thru all the hassle of swapping the engine and tranny, i'd put in a 5 speed.

The lower intake manifold gasket would be easier. Hell Im gonna rebuild a 3400 soon. I'll post pics.

Did you replace with metal gaskets?

I will but it will be on a GA/GT. Front/lower head gasket needs replacing. Not mine, its a friends so once he gets the car over to a suitable place I will begin working on it.

He wanted me to work on it in a apartment parking lot:eek:

Not how I work:p

True, very true. I was just throwing an idea out.

Yep, the kit from wot-tech. It ran fine for a few months... now not so much.

i agree with the 5-spd idea.
