What do you not like about the Doctor Speed?

What do you mean by better? They use a K&N filter with 3" tubing, which is about as good as you're gonna get for a CAI.
I'm going to be eventually selling a 3" CAI as well, with a similar design, but with generic cone filters to cut down on the cost.

I mean if you've found (your opinion) a better performing, sounding, looking, etc CAI.
Maybe it's cheaper but gives the same power increase, or maybe it's more expensive and gives a better power increase, or maybe it's made buy some exotic company and it just sounds really good
Doctor speed gets the most performance out of a cai that your gonna get, however naich is making his own like he said, which will be cheaper with similar results performance wise, for a better price.

To be honest, they should all give almost identical results. Sure the bigger the piping, more air would get in, but how much that helps? Does anybody really have any numbers?

You can't really prove how much a CAI helps because a dyno pull won't really show the effect of a cold air intake, since the car isn't moving. The only real test is at the track, and then there are too many variables to consider that can effect times.
Bottom line is that even a WAI is going to be better than stock, and there won't be too much of a difference between any of the cais out there.

if you go to a good dyno they put a rather large fan in front of the vehicle when doing the dyno.
yeah its not the effects of air at 70 mph but sitting behind the fog light your not exactly going to get too much of a ram air effect anyway.
you want somthing better than whats out there?
find a new place to mount your washer bottle and I can set ya up with whats on my car.
its a single bend intake with an 8" S&B powerstack inverted top filter.
its massive but helped me get to 185 Wheel HP among other things.
next intake for my car will be 4" for the new supercharger and 75mm Tb combo

Mach1, with just an SLP setup on your car, I don't think the different intakes will vary in performance, or even sound-wise. Maybe if you had a different tb/manifold setup, but even then, not that big of a difference. To take my point a step further, even intake pipe SIZE really isn't gonna matter until you get it in-front of better flowing engine components. I've purchased Naich's 2.5" CAI setup, and it sounds and performs identical to the other 3.4 Aleros in my area running 3" set-ups. ( It's really nice knowing I paid about 1/3 of what they did, and mine looks just as nice, sometimes nicer. )
crappy pic, but you get the picture. This was fresh from the box, and the piping and filter-end polished up NICE------v
