well it rattles the crap out of my car also I think the people who installed it probably did it a cheap way.

well maybe try to go back to them and have them look at it, ask them if thats normal.

they told me the header is not really met for that car... idk unless you have any suggestions on the rightfully fitting header?

ok, maybe a dumb question, but why did you get headers that were not for the 2.2

colonel6632

what he means is the header was actually not for the 2.2 alero. it's for a 2.2 in a sunfire or cavalier. (thats what i think anyways headers for different motors don't normally go on other motors)

and yes. the header will change the exhaust note. but a properly installed header shouldn't rattle. it may also sound bad if the header is leaking. which alot of people had with the tsudo header i believe

i gotcha, but if the 2.2s are the same wouldnt they fit up the same, I know the bodies are differnt, but I wouldnt think that would allow for an unpleasent sound.......unless by in turn there is a leak

yup. it should fit. there are other people with the tsudos on their alero. if it's designed for the 2.2 it should fit any 2.2 ecotec. doesn't guarantee that it'll fit the bodys of the different cars. i've also heard that headers sometimes dont fit automatics and the will standards. but his does fit. it probably either has an exhaust leak, or whoever had the car before him removed the cats, or put a loud ass muffler on it.

I concur based on the logic provided. I have the 3400 so i know nothing bout headers, lol

a rattle? sounds like a leak, and with tsudos u got 3 diff gaskets check to see if one of them blew, that was my problem. i had 2 blown gaskets and my car sounded horrible... like a tractor.

tsudo's are one of the worst fitment/quality ones you can get lol

they are possible to fix... right? like take a file and file them flat? proper gaskets with silicone?

I'm thinking of doing the exhaust on my car in the spring. Are there any headers made with 2.2 aleros in mind? I can only find them for sunfires and cavaliers.

Scrap it and get a pacesetter armor coated header.

when added a header to my l61 cavy with stock exhaust, it sounded deeper at idle and you could notice it a lil louder cruising. kinda sounded like my old stock LD9 alero.
