After I turbo the alero i was wondering what would sound/look best in the way of exhaust.
I was thinking of either cutting it off at the cat or maybe running a custom set up to the sides... i might just leave it the way it is. any FACTS that will help me?

have you ever looked underneath your alero? unless you hang your exhaust low and go underneath the rear axle there is no straightpiping that can be done.......

Lose the cat. Use a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler.
Just pipe sounds horrendous (IMO) lol. I'll have some sound clips of mine (although 2.4), I have my exhaust cutout open so I'm running open downpipe.

After having mine plug up, I just like the assurance that nothing is restricting anything. And turbos love open exhausts.
All tests done on 2.5" diameter units:
Stock LS1 268.3 CFM
Catco (metal core) 271.9 CFM
TTS Bullet 277.1 CFM
Carsound 372.7 CFM
Catco (std. core) 388.0 CFM
-------
Test pipe 498.0 CFM

that's an ls1, lets see some alero tests.....with 2.5 or 3 inch with the difference between a high flow and no cat.......

It's a catalytic converter flow test, not the entire exhaust system. Who cares what it's on? The LS1 just means it was a stock cat off an LS1 equipped vehicle, but the rest are universal items. I just wanted to throw up a stock comparison of a typical car.

ok thinking the whole system,
regardless, i want to see some tests with some high flow cats like a flowmaster, magnaflow, etc....
