Ive decided to replace my upper and lower intake manifold with the 3500 comp upper and the lower 3400 comp. i am aware of all the modifications i need to make and the only problem is the throttle body. Havn't decided if i want to get the 65mm throttle body or go big with the 80mm off of a 5.3 engine. anyways, im tearing down the engine now. Going to send in the upper and lower manifold to wot tech on Monday most likely.

But as a side note, TONIGHT IS A VERY THIRSTY THURSDAY! So I will be enjoying myself :drunk:

If you want to go big just use a 68mm TB wot-tech supplies those aswell only on request BUT unless your going to run boost then i would think a 62mm would be enough.

80mm would have the touchiest throttle ever

haha ya i was thinking about sticking with the 62 or 65 but if i go turbo like im planning which would be better?

For peak HP, a larger TB will be the best choice but unless this is track only, the power difference wouldn't be worth the drivability loss.

would a billet 70mm off the mustang v6 work?

go 65. only bigger if you have an epic turbo.

okay haha will do

check out blackjack's car. when you get a turbo like his... then consider going bigger.

till then.. your sucking too much air for too little fuel.

Well I wouldn't say too little fuel, as that isn't a problem with tuning. The problem is throttle resolution. The air demands aren't infinite, as volumetric efficiency and displacement play a large role, as well as RPM, runner lengths and port dimensions, etc. 440 cfm @ 1.5 inHg from a 65mm TB is plenty. 75mm is 605 cfm. Imagine a 605 carb on a 3.4 V6. Sort of the same principle.
