A friend of mine is offering me a set of HIDs for Alero, not any famous brand, 8000k for $120. He's also giving me a 1 year warranty on bulbs and ballasts. Does it sound like an ok deal to you, or should I rather look for something brand-named ? I've been buying stuff from him for a while and it's always top quality.

The thing is shipping to Canada is usually about $40 extra on top of the price. Whenever they say shipping included that's just for the States. I'm kind of new to HIDs so does it really matter whether they are a reliable brand or not ? Ryan's offer seems good to, I gotta look more into it.

Contact ryan and see what he can do for you on the shipping issue. I have the ONLY set bought and installed from Ryan on this forum (I believe). I, as stated by yaleroynot, have not used my high beams since installing them. I have even raised the level of my high beams and set them to eye level of oncoming cars so when they flash me, they get a nice surprise. LOL

Even being new to the whole HID thing, doesn't make a difference between the price of tea in china, either you get them or you don't. This would be one of the best "functional" mods you can do to your alero.
