OK so I'm having trouble will missfiring an such, so I replace the plugs.

Runs a little bit better, still misses, but less

My mech tells me to replace the ign wires, I had 8mm Accel Xtreme's on the car, I replaced them with MSD 8.5mm set for the Grand Am

Runs a lot better, after a few missfires and even a few backfires

It's still missing thou. Now it's only doing it at very high RPM's. I get on the highway today and open it up and it missed pretty bad around 5800 and again less than .5 seconds later at just under 6000.

3 of the 6 male coil ends are brownish, almost like rusted over. 1 isn't too bad, 2 are covered in a nice film of brown stuff.

At 109,915 miles, it's probably a good idea to replace the coils anyway, but does this sound like my problem? I'm hoping it's not the Ignition Mod, at $320 for the part  Yeah.

If I replace the coils, I'm doing a stock replacement. I am looking at Summit, MSD and ACDelco. All are 40,000 volt packs, but the resistence is a bit different between the 3

Yep - replace the coils. About half of the terminals on my OEM coils were rusted @ 117K. so with the new motor came new (stock) coils.

Make sure to use the Electrical Grease when reassembling it.

Your link didnt work either.

could be the reason for the corrosion/rust. dielectric grease would work wonders to prevent that.
