Anybody herd of them, I have been looking into this since I saw a Acion Tc with there rear mounted system (I belive it was in Modafied Mag). All there setups are rear mounted, and aparently do work, and dispite my logic, there is minimal lag.
Here is the link to there site:

They sell a "Universal Kit" I have seen it installed on a Ford Lightning truck along with a few other mods, and supposidly they tuned it to get about 400hp, they have a video as well as others on there site.

I think someone on GAGT.com was doing a remote mounted turbo on a GA

i thought we didn't have enough room for the return line on the turbo... i vaguely remember hearing how these are a decent idea, but not functional for us.

It's all very custom, and does not come with everything you need.
If you want to turbocharge, do it the normal way and save money and time lol.

These actually don't work all that well. I've seen one on a Trans AM at the tuning shop. It does make power but you have to have the right parts to get the most out of it. The guy wanted 600 hp but the setup would only allow 500 at best if lucky. Like ION said do it the normal way.

^^Those were installed much better then the one I saw. I believe one of the complaints was it was laggy for obvious reasons, I don't recall the other issue with the system.

I saw one on a Camaro SS when I was driving once. It was really quick and sounded absolutely amazing!

why has noone tried this concept on the alero?
i think theres more room under the hood then in between the gas tank and the muffler

Usually with a STS turbo setup, there is no muffler.

this is true.. so theoretically it could be accomplished on the alero.

I did search, I geuss I failed. lol
I was mostly looking into a way to mount a turbo in a diffrent location, other than behind the engine. I figured if one was mounted @ the back of the car, then you could possably mount a turbo in the fender. It looks like there is plenty of room, it would probably be a PITA and there would be driling required, but I think it would work out well. It would keep engine and intake temps down a bit, and if you opt for vented fenders, would allow for extra cooling for the turbo. I think the benafits would outweaigh the work involved.

btw......if you are going to try this, if you cut out the spare tire well, you get all sort of room in the back underneath the car..........
trust me i know, it's awesome.....
