sorry guys for not searching right away... but i've got a problem or 2.
first... red brake light is on on the dash.
so i tried replacing the left caliper... and put a used one off a car at the junkyard. and went to put it on... but now it leaks from where the brake line connects to the caliper... please tell me what to do

did you get new brass bushings for the brake line? you need 2. One between the line and the hose, and one between the bolt and the hose.

make sure you put the brake hose back on the right way (only one side of the end fitting is meant to match up with the caliper). kinda confusing, can't really put it into words, but that's the problem i ran into when changing mine. just unbolt the hose from the caliper, spin it around, and see if that works for ya

hmmm... it does seem to go off when i hit bumps and such... and i do rip that e-brake all the time... so time to take the console apart?
also... it was ok before... but now it just seems to get worse and worse

Sounds like the most likely culprit.

I was about to say...is it the ebrake light?...because if your ebrake was on this whole time I'd laugh a little.

If it was actually the parking brake connection in the console then the chime would be going off while driving...

it is infact the ebrake light... and cliff is right... it has to be something else... when it goes on the 3 chimes go... but then nothing else

i'd like to update this. when i replaced one of my bad wheel bearings, this problem quit. i think it had something to do with that.
but now i'm getting the same problem, except the light is never off. even when i let down the ebrake.
here is what i know.
1: brake fluid is full.
2: front driver caliper leaks from rubber (the piston) owned the car for over a year with this problem... not the culprit
3: recently had the car inspected at Canadian tire (it was free and i needed a wheel alignment). never had the problem before that. my driver ball joint was broken. so i replaced the whole lower control arm that had a ball joint already pressed in. light came on when pulling out of shop after that
4: my rear brake pads are metal on metal. But the car can't tell that can it?
5: haven't checked the ebrake sensor. but i need to find it. i assume it's near the ebrake lol.
6: all but one of my brake lights are burnt out. but i doubt the light comes on for that right?
any other ideas. sorry for thread jesus. i figured might as well bring this one back up

Metering valve or portioning valve? brake works ok?

brakes seem to be working just like before.
and i dont think it's my ebrake switch. because if i put the ebrake up one notch and drive, the car starts dinging. if the switch was always on, it would always beep.
the only crazy thing is that it happened when i took off the control arm and put a new one back on.

other bearing? since you replaced only one?
also... no problem thread jesusing your OWN problem. it gives us previous info to work off of.

it could be cherry. but i replaced the other one in june. only months ago. so i assumed it should still be ok. (and i would pay a mechanic to hook up the tech tools to it, but the abs wire is broken, so it doesn't help anyways)
and when the one was going, it would stay off till i hit a bump or something. now it just stays on constantly.

If by ABS wire you mean the wires goin to the hub.. fix it, that would cause the brake light.

true... but the wire has been broken and disconnected for a month or two now. sorry i forgot to mention that.
and the only way to fix it is going to a wrecker and getting a new one lol

alright guys. heres an update.
i looked. both front abs wires are broken. well passenger side abs wire is broken, and the actual connector on the wheel bearing on the driver side got ripped off. so i guess i need to replace a 4 month old wheel bearing. stupid thing.
so until i have $200 for a new wheel bearing. can you disable the whole abs thing so it doesn't look at the wheel bearings and use the abs wires anymore. like pulling the fuse or something.
i plan on driving 1500km this weekend, and would really like my cruise back lol
