3400 camshaft

i dont know much when it comes to motorwork so this might be a stupid question lol do i need to do anything else before id buy the cam? and also how much power will the cam alone add?

I've got one of his old 1280 grinds in my car. You probably want to think about headers, ported manifolds, heads and (most importantly) a way to tune the car before considering a cam. You don't need to do that other stuff, but you've got to pull the motor to change the cam, and you'll need the higher breathing efficiency to take full advantage of the cam.
