Ive painted a few things like my radio/ac trim, the shift plate and the piece around my guages, and and about a few others. We have a suburban that was wrecked by my brother and a few front end parts are fixing to get painted, they guy doing the painted is a local at home painter with a small shop (he makes a living off painting)
I wanna ask him if he can clear coat my peices, me thinking itll make them look better and last,
I know this guy and he most likely wouldnt mind doing it since hes got the fenders and bumpers to do anyways

While it might make them last... a little longer I think your best bet is to send parts you have painted here. http://www.vcfinishes.com/

They did my interior pieces in burlwood and I was very happy and it last much longer than paint 200 for all my pieces. about 20 of them

...and the purpose of this thread?

to soley give entertainment to my long ass workday lol..

but no seriously 1.) painted interior looks strange , kinda ricey with stock interiors. 2.) clear coat will draw WAY too much attention to it all as it will reflect more. and probably will get annoying to passengers and you as well

Do what you want but personally I wouldn't clear coat it. It's just more money for something that will look practically the same if you get a gloss paint finish.

Talk to ServO, his little side vents that he painted look very nice and I don't know what he did, but I would suggest getting his opinion.

If you just want additional glare in your eyes while you're driving, coating your dashboard in aluminum foil works pretty good. But if you only want to protect and enhance the plastic in your interior, armor all works just fine.

ok so clear coat will provide excess glare, thanx
