hello everyone. i am currently building a carputer out of spare parts and want to interface it with my car to show current speed and instant gas mileage and a bunch of other stuff.

does anyone recommend a cheap obd2 usb connector that they have experience with

i found this one
http://cgi.ebay.ca/OBDII-OBD-II-OBD2-CAN-diagnose-scantool-USB-cable-v1-3A_W0QQitemZ280377561693QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_Defa ultDomain_0?hash=item4147ce125d&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

and how are the update times... is it pretty close to instant or a few seconds lag (speed and such)

hmm... i'd be leary. we definitely need a module between the obd2 port and the computer, to interpret.
