Conventional or Synthetic

Other than that, oil's oil.

I have used Valoline high milage tranny fliud in the Alero and Delta, it was just like regualr tranny fliud, I would think oil's the same way.

I found the best Conventional oil is the Quaker State. I would sugest that

High mileage oil has additives in it to help prevent leaks.

I ran Valvoline 5W-30 conventional all the way up til the car had 190,000 on it and I switched to 10W-30 conventional (forged aluminum pistons, thicker startup weight helps with piston slap).

I guess no need to switch now. It's been running fine and I'm at 113k. I've been using just about any 5-30 thats on sale

Same for high mileage transmission fluid.
