i broke the piece im holding off the plastic housing.... i had my arm down in the engine tightening the bolts connecting my headers to the downpipe and i was trying to pull my arms out, hit the sensor with the ratchet and now i need a new part:lol: ken (redog) said it was a vacuum line but i cant seem to find the part of gmpartsdirect......any help would be greatly appreciated, i just wanna know what im talking about when i go to the dealer (cause i doubt autozone has any...)

Thanks!:coolio:

If it is just the vacuum line that broke you can splice it back together using a larger line and some tape. I know its ghetto but it works. I have mine like that due to the 3500 uim.

I would say take it to a dealer and ask them

It's on the emissions system, look there

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/catalog/frameset.cfm

#10 in picture

It's a purge valve, (Fuel tank evap control) part number: 1997297

$35.20 at the dealer, GM parts direct shipped price is $31.24

It's for the fuel system, it should run OK without it, but if you smell fuel vapors, you could have a problem.

Ask the dealership about it, most likey it's a speical order part and will take a few days to get

went to the buick dealership and the guy looked for the part, then came out and said "idk where the part went, it was here earlier".....so now i have to wait until tomorrow to pick it up. And i have to get a new tire put on my rim tomorrow (bubble in the sidewall).

stop driving 100mph over pot holes and you won't get impact bubbles in your tires. :)

^^ You mean driving off bridges ;)

BTW that story about the part is BS, hopefully they will have it for you tomorrow

jackal- i do a good job at avoiding MOST pot holes. sometimes i will hit one and it makes me so nervous, lol. but i went over a year without a bubble in the tire (before that i had to replace 2 tires, lol)

I'm surprised you broke it, unless I'm thinking of another sensor that had a blue clip
