the flange for the downpipe will be a 5 bolt flange.

That's weird how it's designed... most of the time the wastegate flapper is part of the flange that you weld the downpipe to.

What turbo is it? The 5 bolt flange Aftermath posted will work on that turbo, you just won't use the one hole.

Nah. .lots of internal wastegate flaps are on the turbo itself. The flange you posted I have rarely seen around.

doesnt look the same bolt pattern to me!

Nope, it definitely looks like it has some unique bolt pattern and not the typical T3 turbine flange.

What car did this come off of? Or any idea of what model Garrett this is?

Its the same. It just doesn't have that other hole. Look at it again.

I just worked on one the other week, making a 5 bolt flange downpipe.

Even splinter backs me up.

ok so apparently imma dumbass. in the box that my turbo came in there was a bag with the wastegate actuator and a bunch of bolts, so after writing an pissed off message to the dude i bought it from, i found this in the bag... http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/8465/img00371j.jpg

would just any exhaust shop be able to do the welding for it?

that turbo is small as hell, do you have a 4cyl or 6cyl.

you are going tp have boost at start and on.... LOL im not ripping on you, to me the turbo seems small but i guess you dont have to worrie about turbo lag.

That doesn't tell anyone what turbo it is, only the sizes of the compressor and turbine housings.

wouldn't a blow-off valve help that with larger ones anyway?

Not in the way you're thinking

if there is turbo lag there is something wrong there should be no turbo lag

Depends on the size of the turbo, it doesn't mean there's something wrong. If you have a big 35R on a 2.0L engine, it'll be a lag monster. Throw a Mitsu 15g or 16g on the same engine and it'll spool almost instantly.

If you are talking about his turbo specifically, then yes, there should be no turbo lag.

I did a little searching. It looks like a T25 variant. You didn't specify, so I'm guessing it's a .42 compressor, .63 turbine. It should spool pretty much instantly, but I have a feeling it'll fall on its face in the upper RPMs with that small compressor housing. It'll be good for a quick hit of torque in the mid range.
