This might fit the 2.4, but I don't know for sure.
than check it out, that way you have a bigger market;) . Its really close, but even to try it in an 2.2 ecotec you need the base plate, which your not selling and if the top dont fit, think thats cake to make one that fits.
As im typing im getting ready to go take mine out and use the 3M Window Weld ghetto way to fix mine. And ordering the tranny ones for the 5speed. They are shot.
Here is a picture for your reference, so you can see the difference.

It should fit the 2.4L without a problem as the 2.4L & 3.4L share the same mount. Unfortunately it will not fit the ecotec.

Cliff8928
06-29-2009, 01:28 AM
I would've already ordered one if it did fit the Ecotec though.. I would think it would be able to just make another bracket to fit the Ecotec and use the rest of the existing design.

Id order one, but after reading the description of

"Due to the stiffer design, this mount will increase vibration, especially on cold startup and at certain RPM. We are still testing some methods to reduce the vibration"

I think I might wait for the redesign unless there won't be let us know ben

We don't plan to redesign the mount itself for the vibration.

WhiteV6
06-29-2009, 01:00 PM
well here we go:) This is from Phil

"Update:

The issue with the slight increase in vibration has now been addressed and cured. Since the N-Body's subframe is not isolated from the rest of the body with rubber bushings, pieces of Viton Rubber were used between the bottom portion of the mount and the frame rail. I also put the Viton Rubber on the other two mating surfaces of the mount and the vibrations are now gone."

This viton will be included with the first 5 orders. I hope to have updated pictures soon.

^^ There is one on the driver's side that's actually a tranny mount (I have it in the car already) and there is the one on the side by the pullies that this one replaces

There is one on the passager side front of the engine too, and I think there is one in the back of the motor as well

SOLD OUT! Awesome, that didn't take longhttp://www.grandamgt.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif I am asking that no one else buys this mount until the first 5 are tested and we get feedback on them. I am hoping that we will have 100% positive feedback and can get more in production soon afterwards. Thank you!

I talked to Phil, and he told me the 2.4 uses the same mount. Rockauto agrees. If you have a 2.4 and want to test this mount out for the pre-sale price, send me a PM. Max 2 people on this and I need to know soon.

I need it tested on a vehicle right away to get feedback, hence the reduced price on the initial run.

Update: I spoke with the machine shop yesterday and everything is still on track for completion on July 20th. It was indicated that outer portion was complete and the first process of the center section had been started.

The rest of the hardware has been purchased, so everything should be on schedule stated in the description on the Wot-Tech store.

Last one is pending sale tonight. I do not plan on buying red bushings but I will be doing a group buy for the next batch so I can hopefully run a larger batch...and will have to buy bushings anyway. At that point, you can tell me you want red. Most people wanted black and any that I stock outside of a group buy will be black.

179.99 will be the group buy price.

Did you install the rubber pads under the mount where it meets the frame?

I am wondering if the air struts combined with a stiffer mount make any difference as far as vibrations are concerned or if the broken strut was part of the problem?

I am running the stock suspension and the only noticeable increase in vibration is at a stop light with the A/C on, which I noticed even with the stock mount. The vibration is very minor (the wife doesn't notice it) especially with the radio on and if I switch the A/C off, it immediate goes away due to less load on the engine.

mine is noticeably more shakier at idle, i have intake headers/exhaust done to my car with an air ride so im sure that contributes to it as well

you can really notice the difference if you are making, say a U-turn while giving it gas at around 20+ mph

I did not install the rubber pads beneath the mount, and I really did not notice any more vibration........of course, I have had a poly/aluminum front trans mount for years so maybe I'm just used to it.
Awesome product, and it is very pretty.

I've been sitting on it for a while.

I had everything apart but I couldn't budge 2 of the bolts (I hope I didn't cross thread them when I changed the belt )

Got my impact gun out, but I didn't have an 18 mm deep socket. I do now.

Hope to do this this weekend

/\/\ The only way I have seen people really cross thread the motor mount is when they don't have the engine jacked up to the right hight and raise the motor basically with brute force turning the bolts.

01GrandAm

I just ordered a second mount for my project car. I was told that they are in stock and ready to ship!

The shifts feel much more crisp, the handling in corners feels a lot tighter and over all the car feels more responsive. I have also noticed that wheel spin is almost non existent on hard launches. This is a nice improvement for any car and will fit both the 2.4L and the 3.4L.

The problem I had was the jack shifted while I was putting the belt on, so it wasn't lined up correctly.

I had to have my wife start the bolts while I pulled the engine forward

jackal2000

is there a torque spec for any of these bolts? primarily worried about the bolts the bolts that hold the bridge piece to the engine side.

I took it to the shop just to be on the safe side. Turns out I didn't cross the threads anyway, but I didn't want to take the chance. I really wanted to do it myself.

I had him check the tranny fliud too. turns out is was 1.5 quarts low. $40 for everything.

The mount is awesome! My car doesn't virbate as much anymore since the tranny mount was installed a few months ago. I don't have to push the pedal down as much to spin them so I gotta be careful. :D

i emailed ben and he said he doesnt know of a torque spec for any of those bolts so i just made them real tight and the two on top by the engine i torqued to 50ft-lbs per his advice. only thing i notice now is a little vibration in the gas and brake pedals.

Can it be done? theres plenty of n-bodies ECOs that would use this for sure. You be the only one selling them also.
