To cut the wire or to not cut the wire?

Im putting in a new air intake but need to know if i cut my iat sensor and extend it, will it stop working or work flawlessy? Anyone have any expeirence with doing this? Will it work?

if you know how to solder, then it will benefit you to cut it, and extend it a few inches. just use some good heat shrink tubing to keep it protected

i needed to do the same thing, and at this point, its not soldered, just used those connectors where you slip both wires into it and clamp down, i forget what theyre called. anyway, i occasionally get issues with rough shifting, which is almost certainly caused by what i did to the wire. so in short, yes you can cut and extend it, but make sure you solder it and use the same gauge wire.

So sensors are just electricity,resistance?!?

^thats what the signal is sent as, yes. differnt conditions create a different resistance.

yes that would be much easier, and had i seen that when i cut my wires, i would have gone that way. also, i just soldered everything back together, and it does seem to have made a little bit of a difference in my shifts. not quite as rough anymore. but ya the easiest thing to do would be get the harness, and cheapest would be splicing in more wire, unless you seriouls screw something up and need to buy new shit.
