Stock coil volt rating

Does anybody know?

I may or may not change them. The Summit brand is red and rated at 40,000 volts and the Accel are yellow and rated at 45,000 volts. I'd rather they be black, but would do the red and no way the yellow

What else would I need, the coils are only $40 a piece! How hard for a DIY project. Doesn't look too hard to do

I think the factory coils are 40,000v.

DIY is easy. Just pull the plug wires off the coil, pull the two little bolts out of the coil and pull the coil off. Put new coil on, two bolts and plug wires back on.

Don't do the accel coils, they're garbage. The stock ones are usually adequate. The MSD ones do look nice though =)

I've always heard that GM ingitions are the best OEM ingitions out there.

My mech suggested doing new wires first. My current ones are in the area of 5 years old ;)

It's not doing it now, only did it in Michigan :blink:
