Ok, I don't get it. My battery keeps dying this week. I haven't driving the car, even the radar detectors turned off. And that crappy Mopar battery keeps dying.(car came from dodge dealership)

I double check everthing was/is off.
Put my phone on vid and made shure things light the glove box and trunk light when out when shut, all fine.
The capacitor and where ever the radio draws power to keep time from is the only left opperationg and the capacitor turns off.

The car wont start and but the interior light dimly comes on.
I charge battery and the cars fine for a while.
One time i went to start it, it began to turn over stopped then nothing, when i attached the charger it read 13.8 amps and 11.6 on the capacitor, but the battery on engine start. The car started, and i drove the car 3 miles and figured it was now fine. (this part was yesterday btw) The car started fine before and after my cousins wedding.

Today it didnt start and the chargers being used for Flounder Gigging batteries.

Any Ideas on this crap, Im baffled

Replacing an old battery with a new one usually does the trick.

Pull your battery terminals and clean both sides, I can guarantee theres some corrosion on there. Might do the trick temporarily but doesn't necessarily mean the battery is any good.

What's the voltage across the battery terminals with the car in park, and the all the accessories off, and with the engine idleing at about 2000 RPM's?

Also, how many miles on the car and how old is the battery?

Also, any aftermarket acessories installed?

Once we have established that the alternator is OK, and that the battery is not past it's warranty period, we can go from there (involved tracking down which circuit is potentially causing a drain).

Do you own a voltmeter? If not you need one.

you NEED A BATTERY!!! STFU AND GO BUY ONE!!! ITS NOT DIFFICULT

when i bought my alero, it needed a battery

when my brother bought his alero, it needed a battery

im sure MOST of us, when we bought our alero's, it needed a battery... they die, get over it, stop questioning yourself, BUY A FRIGGIN BATTERY

its not the car, its not "posts" not the alternator, its not even a QUESTION

Why do all you people assume it's the battery? I'd want to confirm that the alternator is good first. Otherwise, it was probably a crappy 1 year battery put in at a dealer, but I'm not willing to assume that.

On my Escort, that never happened. I only knew it was bad because I installed a voltmeter.
