I used the search button but found nothing directly related to this so...

Anyways. The rubber gaskets around my windshield are coming off and since I'm still not that carsmart I called around to see if anyone fixed them. So far I've had no luck which suprises me because you'd think replacing two rubber strips would be easy. So. Can I buy replacement gaskets and attempt to repair them myself or should I just go grab a bottle of silicone and seal it back like that?

I used weatherstripping silicone on mine, it worked fine.

Which ones? The top, bottom or sides?

a body shop did mine when they fixed the damage from my accident. the problem is (he told me) that those pieces come with the windshield itself, but he found some used ones.

Nah, those side pieces are just held on with a few screws. They're not even that expensive from GM.

the side pieces are plastic, relatively cheap and held on by 3 screws each. That is simply decorative trim.

the gasket itself is once piece (afaik) and should be handled by a glass specialist.

Went to O'Reilly's [closest store, no offense to autozone lol] and they came out and looked at it and said the weather-stripping silicone would seal it right back up, so that's what I got. And the I'm talking about the hard-rubber(soft-plastic?) trim. They havent come oof enough for me to see any screws so I'm just gonna seal it up with the silicone.

Yea, I went out and bought the actual Epoxy for it. then my dad took the tube and drove to a guys shop he knew. they sealed it up and dad gave them the tube. Worked out well for both of us.
