Brake WTF

My brakes were tapping. So i tore the fronts apart to find my driver's side caliper boot leaking and my passanger bracket was fused to the pins.

replaced both. (and passanger caliper after the bleeder screw rounted off completely)

bled everything. fronts, backs... little air came out, but it was clean fluid the whole time after. Solid pressure when off. As soon as i turn the car on, the brakes go to the floor. ZERO pressure.

um.....idk if this is a joke but thats going to happen after you change your brakes. you have to pump them a few times to build up pressure.... if it keeps doing it yea you have something wrong. but i doubt thats the prob.....you are the problem:lol:;)

i pumped the hell outta them...

spongy, go straight to the floor w/ no resistance.

well when you did the brakes did you have the master open?? if ya did you let allot of air in the system, i never open the master no need to unless replacing brake fluid

you could have a leak somewhere check up front where you replaced parts, when you bleed you bleed the farthest wheel first
right rear, left front, left rear, right front in that order, as you bleed each side add fluid, you could do it the old skool way of pump the pedal up crack the screw, pump it up crack the screw, and keep going

you dont have the car running doing this do you?? car is off!! when your done bleeding, the master is topped off everything closed up then start the car, pump the pedal , see if ya got a pedal, if not do it all over again, i have had to do some cars 3 times to get a pedal any engine lights on?? do you have a vacum leak, try that see what happens

SES light came on last week. but it wasn't brake related. (dirty MAF, as far as i can tell)

i did them in that order. got a little air outta each, and left the master closed.

I guess i try to rebleed them tomorrow. Hopefully get this straightened out. I just went out and checked, and theres no leaking anywhere.

So i know i'm getting this right...

connect the bleed kit w/ a little in the bottle
open the bleeder screw
push the pedal to the floor
close the bleeder screw
release the pedal.

repeat ad nauseum, farthest wheel first...

i dont do it that way i do it the old skool way, someone in the car pumping the brake pedal like 5-6 times or until the pedal is real hard, you are at each screw, opening the screw until fluid comes out, close it, then guy in car pumps again, you open, i do it twice each wheel

sounds hard but its not just more time consuming, but it works, and yes doing it in the "x" pattern
