ya i even switched back to the boots to see if my coils went bad but that didnt work.Another thing is the security light, low oil light and check engine light comes on when i put the key on the on position but when i try to start it everything goes away. Also when i pulled the old spark plugs they had a strong gas smell

i have a 2.4L and everytime I had a issue with my car not cranking over with strong fuel smell it was a coil pack issue...mainly me not pluging it in....that was not to terribly informative but I hope it sends ya in the right direction

Does it sound like you have combustion at all?

He can crank the engine but can't turn it over. So I'm assuming he means he can grind a normal sound slow start but there's no combustion to turn the engine over and get it started.
That or he's just not firing enough cylinders to turn it over, in which case he would have said so before taking off the intake manifold... although he did try passlock without the blinking light... probably should have disconnected the battery instead...
Ok first question turn key to acces on, turn off your radio! When you turn your key to on before turning it over do you hear your fuel pump? (You need 3 things spark fuel and 02) (You don't need fuel to turn the engine on an Electric Starter).

Thats what i thought at first cause i always forget to plug it back in but everything is hooked up like its supposed to be.Also i have the MSD coil swap in for about 2k miles so i dont think the coils died thats why i thought it might be my ICM.

No it just cranks and cranks so its either a fuel or spark issue

I disconted the battery first that didnt work then i tryed the passlock thing that failed to so i went to the spark plugs the the ICM and nothings worked and i can hear the pump going when i put the key to on

When you turn the key on not over, with the radio off do you hear something that sounds like those radio long silver thingys that are now back scratchers extending for like 1 second. At all?

Its something electrical thats all there is to it. Those maxi fuses > all
sounds like a blown fuse, check the PCM fuse, on the 3400s its in the driver fusebox

Will do thanks for the help i didnt even think of the fuses

if fuses are good try to check your crank sensor. ive had this issue befor. it plugs in next to the coil pack and goes down to the side of engine between trans. unplus the harness at top and bottem and ohm test each wire. this is a common cause of why the 3100 and 3400 wont start

Ya it will just sit there and crank and crank but i can get it to turn over and run
do you hear the fuel pump kick on when you turn the key? you could have a shot fuel pump

To sum it up it cranks but wont turn over i changed the plugs, coils, took out my msd coils and went back to the boots, new ICM,fuel pump turns on and runs, new crank sensor, tryed the passlock thing and nothing has worked so i threw in the towel and sent it to the shop and its been there for 4 days now and they dont know whats wrong with it yet

just because the pump whines when you turn they key dont mean itll keep up with the engine when its moving, find and hook up a fuel pressure tester on it and make sure its right, also check you fuel pressure regulator. on the other hand, if your dum
but on the other hand if you are dumping fuel or there is alot in the cylinders you should have a spark problem, also MSD systems seem to be pretty unreliable around here atleast, a buddies 302 went through 4 msd boxes so far so try stock and see what happens

I take it it if at the shop they hooked it up to OBD?.Have you held the spark plug wire just off the tip of the plug to see if they actually sparking?..Also i see you took off the LIM,so mabey a compression test might help you.

there's no lower intake manifold on an LD9
like above, fuel filter or check the spark plugs to see if they're really sparking (crank engine with fuel pump relay removed so you don't puddle up a bunch of fuel in the cylinders while testing)

I hooked up my scanner and there were no codes and i only had the msd coils not the dis box but i did switch back to stock just to make sure. They checked the fuel pressure and it was fine so i guess my filter and pump are ok

well its fixed $446 later it was just a blown fuse going to the ICM which i some how missed when i checked the fuses :banghead: but at least i did some preventive maintenance replacing the crack sensor,ICM,plugs, wires, fuel filter and msd coils :glare:

when we say check fuses... we mean PULL EACH AND EVERY ONE AND CHECK FOR CONTINUITY!

I did i pulled every fuse and some how i missed it.It took the shop 5 days to figure it out
