It's easy as hell. At least on the LD9. Who knows what you have because you didn't post in the engine specific forum. The CPS is an engine related part....

Sorry guys- it's a 3.4L.
All this is for inspection time. Had to get cat replaced already and they quoted me 189 to get this cps replaced. They said thats the other code its throwing Called pepboys and the part is only 21 dollars so I figure wtf I'll see about replacing it myself.

Which crank position sensor? The 7X or 24X?

Man I have no idea. All they said was the ""front" one. But when I called pepboys they told me there was only one listed in their system not two...

It's slightly more involved to do that one. You have to remove the crankshaft harmonic balancer for that one. Just requires a specific puller, once it's off it's easy as pie.

Well that sucks cause I just had the harmonic balancer replaced two months ago. I'll see if one of these part stores has a loaner then. Thanks for the help.

adance and auto zone have a universal pulley puller kit, its an adjustable puller for crank pullies.
basically once you get a hold of it, you remove your passenger wheel and some fender liner, remove belt and crank pulley and there you go, its not entirely hard but if you know what your doing it really speeds things up

I just don't have the time to do that kind of work anymore. I ended up working remotely from home and paid the mechanic 55 to put it on. Glad I did cause had more problems yesterday morning. My boot on the pcv valve had a gaping hole and the gromet behind the tb was blown out too. Replaced those at part store before I took it to him but then he had to seal the gromet. He also replaced a worn seal where the crankshaft pully is because it was leaking oil. Wondered why I started losing oil...
Also the sensor was snapped in half... Doesn't seem like a normal occurance to me...
