Brown window switch wire?

So I ran outta time before work and got excited about my led window switchs... Is there any reason the dark brown wire on the drivers window switch would short if I wire it up with 20g? and splice 2 leds with resistors off it? (tapped it fine on the passenger but ran outta taps due to stupid)

for switch lights... tap the gray wire. not brown.

If you are usng those taps that you squeeze together and then close the top (quick connects) then you are going to have allot of problems.
