I got to get some help if anyone has had this done while u have had ur alero.
I seem to get shocked from my car when I shut it off and get out. Is there a way to fix this, I'm not sure of were to start first.

its just static building up from you sitting on a fabric seat. when your coat/shirt rubs against the seat on your way out, your building charge. since your door is metal/grounded, when you touch it, you discharge.

i just got used to mine doing that. i usually hit my door w/ my elbow to limit how bad it can hurt. (i've gotten some pretty decent sized arcs coming off my hand)

its just static electricity. want it to end? get leather and a vinyl floor.

it is static right, maybe hes got a power cable ran through his door and suckers charged

^most power cables are charged. but anyways (aside from being a smartass again), they also have insulation around them. the only way it would shock him is if he touched the bare wire and ground at the same time. if it was hitting the frame of the car, fuses would be blowing.

sounded possible to me, couldnt imagine static electricity being urgent but a painful shock would be somthing to worry about

^ i mean i guess it is possible, but its highly unlikely. i'm guessing its just static. i've got some pretty nasty static shocks b4, even they do have a possiblilty to smart a lil.

it's just static build up. this happens a lot when the air is dry and you are wearing lots of clothes ie a jacket. just do what Cherrington17 said.

I get shocked about every time I get out of my car as well. I also get zapped when I get out of my wifes Cavalier. It has to be static, it only happens in the winter time when it's dry as hell outside.

i got nailed today.. THROUGH my winter coat.... WHILE it was raining. (elbow again)

some people just conduct alot better then others. Me? i'm a freak'n human capacitor.

the problem is while your sitting in your car, its vibrating... thus building charge on your clothes/body while your sitting. You build enough, you get shocked when you discharge, by touching a ground.

i suppose you COULD put a small bare wire around the bottom of your seat, and connect it to a grounded location (under a bolt) so you have a constant method of grounding your ass, before you get out?
