alright, i searched and couldnt find the answere i needed. i'm planing to put nitrous on my car in the future and was woundering if anybody knows how much would a stock engine can handle? i got on to to aleromod.com or here (http://sites.google.com/site/aleromodupgrades/performance/engine/ld9-24l-twin-cam-2/nitrous-oxide) it says that it can handle up to 100HP shot of nitrous safely. 100 hp for stock? or tuned engine? i'm new to nitrous stuff but i wanna go with wet and direct port.:p only mods i've done so far is CAI and new muffler for a lil better breathin in and out.

why exactly?
so i wouldnt slap nitrous in my car and blow up my engine? i just want a faster car, cant really go for a turbo setup since its to much money so i'm going for nitrous as an alternative

don't go over 50 hp shot if you have a stock engine, wet and direct port are for built engines.... your stock one is gonna blow up if you do this 100hp shot

Nitrous seems pointless on a stock engine sure you can get away with a 50 shot or less but the money you spend on buying it could be spent on other better things.

i would think turbo would be cheaper in the long run by far.

Don't say anything if you don't know. Please... -_-
A multitude of people run 50-100HP nozzles wet without any issues on the LD9. Spraying on a stock engine is not something I would do, however. The increased cylinder pressures and power levels will get your weak connecting rods a flexin. You do not want a rod to snap and go through your block.
Nitrous is the hardest hitting power adder when it comes to engine strain. Direct port is overkill on a stock engine, however it is the most precise, and must be set up and installed precisely. If one nozzle is off in any way, that one cylinder will be different than the others and catastrophic failure will result.
Dry shots are far too dangerous without a knowledge and capability of tuning or a way to add the extra fuel. You're shooting in an oxidizer without any fuel to compensate. Talk about going lean.
Wet should be fine as long as it is run properly and fuel puddling is not an issue. Our intake manifolds are designed to flow air, not nitrous and fuel.
I plan on running direct port 100 eventually.
Also, you should definitely look at the Nitrous Oxide forum section on www.j-body.org. You can find every newb question on earth about nitrous there.

well, i read through this and what i got is 50 or 75 shot is safe with stock, that sound right to you ion?. also they seem to favor dry shot over wet shot becuase of puddling and nirtrous back fire. so i dont know which to chose now, any ideas? or perfer?; i'm not ganna keep shoting it with nitrous all the time, i'm just ganna use it when i want it or need it, its not ganna be like a race car like you guys have lol i wish i could drive a vechile like that.

do NOT go with dry shot, because of the leaning out, it will KILL your engine

If the dry shot has a way to increase the injector output, then it's ideal.
Guy near me is selling a wet kit for $300, brand new. The only thing I'm worried about is the fuel not getting where it needs to be and sitting in the intake.

unless if i get better injector and/or better fuel pump to even it, right?:thumb:
wet kit for $300 bucks? i like.

No you still need a method to add the extra fuel. The car does not "sense" that you just sprayed nitrous and inject the proper amount of fuel to compensate. Open loop fueling is a static tune, no adjustments.

hmm ok, so then just take the easy way and go wet?
