alright,

here is the story,

the car has been fine for the 6 days it has been running, now today,

whatever gear is the first gear

natey1112 (9:03:56 PM): from a standstilll
natey1112 (9:04:17 PM): its
natey1112 (9:04:18 PM): so
natey1112 (9:04:20 PM): say
natey1112 (9:04:24 PM): the stock shift point
natey1112 (9:04:28 PM): gently accelerating
natey1112 (9:04:32 PM): is 2500 RPM
natey1112 (9:04:38 PM): to the second gear
natey1112 (9:04:42 PM): no
natey1112 (9:04:44 PM): now
natey1112 (9:04:48 PM): if i push it a bit harder
natey1112 (9:05:01 PM): (remember its a good shift on the 2500 rpm)
natey1112 (9:05:09 PM): and it shifts at 3000 rpm
natey1112 (9:05:13 PM): it goes and shifts
natey1112 (9:05:15 PM): and then goes
natey1112 (9:05:17 PM): prrp
natey1112 (9:05:18 PM): like
natey1112 (9:05:20 PM): slip
natey1112 (9:05:22 PM): and then is fine
natey1112 (9:05:24 PM): and then
natey1112 (9:05:28 PM): anything over it
natey1112 (9:05:29 PM): is fine
natey1112 (9:05:34 PM): its at 3K rpm
natey1112 (9:05:42 PM): the "slip" occurs

i copied the IM becuase it as best explained there

maybe its stupid like my cutlass. Right before it goes into OD, it revs a little. Rebuilt and whatever but thats how it is for my car.

so.... wouldn't typing it out be easier then cut and pasting then deleting....???

and i can't say my tranny does any of that....

i still say that its in safe mode since you just fixed the car and reset the PCM...

there is no "learning shift points" safe mode, the tune is the tune.

you'd be surprised. when i disconnect my battery for an hour, my tranny shifts like its on crack for a few days then goes back to its old self. it does exactly as he describes...

i would be surprised. when i disconnect my battery for a week, my transmission shifts just like it did before.

well, i dunno what to say. must be one of the 3400 4t45e combo's stupid quirks. it happens. i promise.

i'm sure it does but not because it's learning shift points, it's something else that's causing it to be in limp mode

TheEdgeofSanity

it goes into limp mode after the PCM is reset... it does that for a certain amount of miles that i don't know offahnd then (from what i'm told and have personally observed) goes into a certain tune based on your driving habits.

i dont know if the 3400 has an IAT sensor but if it does check that cause mine was unpluged one time and the tranny was all screwed up on shifts

^ yep but if it was the IAT it would be shifting VERY aggressive, even from N to D

Mine was shifting really hard and missing/slipping. Turned out one of the wires from my MAF sensor was corroded. I cut out the bad part of the wire and soldered it back together - all is good now.

it shifts great, just that little blip, it does it after 20 or so miles of driving, and if i pull over, shut the car off and then restart, it wont do it again for a while

Could be a sensor that goes bad when it's hot? I would just double check all of your wiring first just to be safe, other than that, wait for an engine code.

well, i found out my tranny cooler lines in my rad were blocked by dust, overheating tranny..... drained and refilled rad... car is fine now
