anyone know where to get a better than oem alternator mainly more power or even just better quality?

wow really i heard napa sucks in your personal opinion you think napa alt is good as delco or better?

uuhhh....no napa would just be an average aftermarket brand. A company did make aftermarket higher amperage alternators for aleros at some point in time.. I think it was Mr Alternator. but i dunno how available those may be any more.

But if you are looking for a high quality, readily available option... cant go any better than Delco or perhaps even Bosch?

Advanced Auto Parts sells a good alternator, Auto Zone doesn't.

NAPA is overpriced

I've had my DLG alternator from AutoZone on my 3400 for 6 years now. Never failed me.

Every part sold at the discount auto stores is not garbage, but alternators especially have been known to have alot of defects, when they get cheaply made parts from no name manufacturers.

i figure get a really good one since i have a nice battery and i have original alt. when i hit my brakes. my headlights dim pretty bad so im assuming thats a good sign its on its way out.

i have the mr.alternator one. its overpriced as well. 250 for a 200A? too much.

i think any alt for a 99 - 04 will fit
