or you can get a piece oh soft hose, and put it over the ends, and then superglue and then electrical tape to seal

LOL!

The LD9 has one of those as well. That goes to your HVAC controls, IIRC.

Use some of that flexible rubber tape. Electrical tape is not the answer.

Just some snug fitting hose should be fine. You could go through all the trouble to splice it with a new nylon tube, but that's just overkill.

You may be able to find an appropriate rubber 90° bend at your local parts store that may have a longer rubber section to make up for the cracked off section as well.

Oh, and for that oil pump drive gear, it can help to use the o-ring as well as a paper gasket (one for a small-block chevy works fine). Helps prevent any future leaks. They should've redesigned that thing when got rid of the distributors (last 60°V6 with a distributor was in '93)

how does that come out!? we can wiggle it... but it doesn't want to pull free

Really? Mine has a little crack in it and my HVAC is slow to change. Now I know why ;)

I would have put shrink wrap around it with a little pvc cement to make it air tight!

You have to remove the retainer for it then just work it loose. Sometimes they are just a pain to get out..

Nate, nowhere in this tread I see something about his LIMG? lol He's talking about the HVAC vaccum hose. Or maybe I missed something?

So Cherry, if I understand right, your hose is still hanging unplugged? So you gotta have a high idle now, no?

well its a support for something that has room to wiggle or rattle, cause the hole is pounded out some. and from the looks of how big the welded nut is, it could support something fairly heavy.

lmao thats a true mechanic * lady: sir wats this box? mechanic: oh those are some uhm extra parts?*

How do you tight a part like this? I mean the nut looks like it is welded to the rest of the piece. weird.

You tighten what goes in it...looks like a bracket for something, If you didn't have it before you did the work on the car and you do now....it may very well be off the car.

i'm pretty sure it is. but it could have been in my tool chest.

doubtful, since i rarely work on anything w/ metal of that gauge.
