im wondering if anyones tried removing the vynil from teh dash and doors and sanding them to paint?

im wondering what kind visual effect this could produce in an interior and am perdicting it could provide an alternative to getting a wavy or peeling dash repair,

is this possible or a dumb idea

not shure if fiberglassing would be needed, but im figuring theres plastic somewhere underneith the black material under the vynel that could be preped to paint>?

There is plastic under the vinyl, but you would be better off to just glass it and pain it.

so it is possible? has anyone done it without glassing it and have pictures?

also would nail polish on the light inside the dome be effective at turning it blue

the dash isn't perfect and the vents don't fit right without the vinyl on it. somebody tried it before and it looked dumb and they regretted it after. just stick with the stock look for now, unless you want ur car to look like a gutted house.

I have never seen or heard of anyone doing that. The plastic that is underneath can't really be sanded. It heats up and kind of peels, I know this because it does the same thing as you cut through it.

I've got some black painted vents that still function I'd sell you. If you don't want them, be careful when you paint yours, if you're not real carefull you won't be able to turn them anymore

i have a friend that wanted to change the color of his interior light to red. so he bought some clear-see through red tape and then taped this around his bulb up there. now his interior light gives of a red glow and its pretty f-n sweet. its been like that for over half a year and nothing has happened to it

The light has been done u painted it, turned on let get hot
When the burning smell came I hit it with a cold blow dryer
Now its fine no burt smell or anything and I also added an extra blue 194 bulb looks great but I can't get the glow to show up well in pictures

i have started to learn being cheap doesnt get you too far and most times its just better to put the money in to get good quality items, cause for me in the end the probs with the cheap equal the value of the good stuff when its all said and done

getting it to show up in pictures... you need to use "night" mode. w/ a tripod or a REALLY steady hand. It holds the lens open for like 3 seconds, to get enough light exposure.

As for the dash.

I bought a dash cap on eBay. Works pretty good, but the vinal underneath is statring to wave in one spotbecause the dash is comming up in just that one spot. Meh, I'll fix it later.

The guy's eBay name is az*bob, kit's like $150
