what do you guys think/opinions on painting he stock polished alloy wheels flat black?

just late at night here and im trying to think of next project lol

i've wanted to paint mine, but i was gonna do a glossy black. however, i don't have the balls to do it, since they're my only set of rims for now haha. but yeah i think it looks good... someone on here did it. i think it was travisalero? someone correct me if i'm wrong.

yeah i know what you mean lol...i have one set and one attempt lol...
i think travisalero didd it glossy but i like the flat look... my ride is lowered so i think it may look ok......
its a tough call cause once you do it your stuck

theres a how to video on youtube on painting rims and it looks really good.. but its the fact of actually doing it lol

yeah definitely.. i've never really been a fan of flat black, but i think it has potential if you like it!

I dont know about Flat black rims on a non flat black car, but thats just me. I think it would be better if your car was flat black also.

black cars are an absolute pain in the ass to maintain, i will never own a black car again.....

I had a black Taurus, it wasnt too bad to maintain, but then ageain i was 16 and didnt give a flying banana about the condition of it, :lol:

and i love black cars it makes almost everything look at its best imo...

i would like to know how it was done,

ok people listen up, its a polished aluminum wheel, no clear if i remember right, so how is paint going to stick to a polished aluimnum metal??? with the correct adhesive of course, PPG makes a aluiminum adheshion promoter which it basicly is,

with that applied anything can be put over it, dp sealer, ncp primer, dbu/dbc. single stage, but....................dont know what iam talking about no expeirence in what iam talkinn about leave it alone of have them powder coated

About the rims, couldn't you just sand and prime it before painting?

^ dude, he JUST explained how to do the rims...even though he was ranting because he thought Caboose did his rims, not his car.
