i was toying with my car conteplating installing a headunit my self or paying best buy to do it, i got the peice around the shift knob up but couldnt disconnect teh switch to get it out of the way, i squezzed the sides with my hand and pulled and nothing, then got pliers and tried, teh pliers slipped and cracked part of the circut board looking thing of the switch but i think i lucked out and its fully fucntioning as a switch, is there some trick im missing or is this just bad luck with it

lol

Theres a latch on the side facing front of car. Pry it apart and a little pull.

just take your time and look everything over as ur taking it apart, it really issnt that hard to install a headunit infact almost ALL wires are color coded! i would solder them but butt connecters are the next option, whatever you do dont twist and wrap them with electrical tape or as one of my friends did, SCOTCH TAPE!!!

it depends are you spending the extra money for the data bus II harness or just getting the cheep one (the chimes are gay any way)
