So I want to install a trans temp gauge for when I'm turboed. There is a probe already in place for transmission temperature. I could simply splice the wires. However, my dad thinks this may weaken the signal to the control module, where the existing probe temperature information is already going. Can anyone refute/verify this? I can just install the new probe in the radiator with an adapter, but this would be a tad easier overall.
Opinions?

Why not just get a ScanGauge or Interceptor?

because he's got gauges already and it's nicer to have something that flows with the rest of the instruments and not a digital rectangle stuck someplace in the interior

Well, the Inteceptor is a 2 1/16" gauge. There are also other manufacturers that have gauges that interface to the computer. (PLX, Autometer, etc..)
