i need new drums for my truck, and since plenty of aleros have drums in the rear, i figured i would ask what brands people have bought and been happy with or hated?
o'reily's sells brakebest drums for $32.99 each (1 year warranty)
advance auto parts sells wearever drums for $32.99 each (1 year warranty)
auto zone sells beck anley drums for $38.99 (3 month warranty)
and duralast drums for $48.99 (2 year warranty)
anybody used any of these and have any comments on them? i really need an instock part as i need them soon so i can send them out to be drilled to another lug pattern and have them back by next weekend.

theres no way of doing a swap to rotors? I know it's probly going to be more expensive, but will look way better than drums.
I guess you'd need a new rear Axle.

I've always been told to go with Bendix ;)

i got a sweet deal on the rear end that i'm gonna use, and its setup for drums, so thats what i'm gonna run on it. swapping it to discs would be possible, but way more money than i want to spend.

So then my 2 cents would be to get basic drums for now and spend some $$$ on rotor swap later :)

i went out and bought some cheap drums from o'reillys. i'll only put 3000 miles or so on the truck in a year anyway, and i'm only running 18s, so they should be fine. i have no intentions of doing a disc brake swap.

Anything that's made in USA or Canada should be good.
Anything else is garbage.
I have noly bought one brake drum, and I special ordered a Bendix one. That was sometime in the early 1990's though.

If you can get Raybestos drums there okay it all depends on what you want to spend the U.S made ones are more expensive then the ones mad overseas

^^Supposedly they do, but they are really crappy
by the by frank that truk is ill as hell, ive allways wanted a s10 that gen slamed on bags w/ a body drop on the stock rear bumper. usually roll pans look better but i like the chrome bumpers on those years. nice choice on the rolling stock and paint

haha pop says the opposite, if its made here now save time and put in staight in the trash, if it was made years ago keep it
i dont always agree with this, i like to see made in the usa stamped on it

made in the USA doesn't always mean its quality. and if its the same quality (same parts used to make it) it means you pay more for the same item.
