plus, today i drove 100 miles home from my cottage and noticed a slight clunking when i turn the wheel. I later tonight went to the movies and when I was leaving the parking lot, i experienced an enormous "BANG" when i turned left and now it makes a very loud clunking noise everytime i turn the wheel left or right. its coming from the passenger front wheel.
PLEASE HELP!

Evap codes. .means like your gas cap isn't sealing. I wouldn't worry about this. this is the least of your worries. You can drive w/ evap codes all day long.
The banging noise.. is prolly your CV axles. Cuz you say they clunk when you turn.
The shift solenoids.. you need some tranny work.

evap is no big deal, mine comes on every now and then i just go in with a tech 2 and turn them off. its either a lose gas cap or the vent on the canister is plugged, either way no big deal.
the banging noise, like said, could be your cv axles. or it could b a broken coil spring binding on itself like mine was.
the shift solinoids tho, i dunno. but as long as the tranny works ok don't worry about them.

Yeah a 442 code means the gas cap isn't on right.
Tranny solenoids, yeah you'll need that replaced, but you need the CV joints too. expensive but all in one big job ;)

the loud clunk could also be a bad hub too....my hub made a clunking noise every time i turned everyone thought it was the strut mount but it wasnt

UPDATE:
i checked the transmission fuse under the hood (recommended by a family mechanic) and it was still good but looked like it had began to melt. i replaced it. I also found a spare gas cap that fits my tank so i'm giving that a try. i took the car to autozone and had the codes cleared and so far all is well with no SES light. I also took the passenger wheel off and discovered that its not my CV joint but the spring on the strut tower broke at the top. it appears to have rusted and been a weak spot. it'll be replaced either this wednesday or saturday. hopefully its a not-so-expensive fix because i'm kinda tight on cash right now.

The spring on my old car broke there, too - it happens. I found someone who had a set from when he lowered his car. But even lowering springs are relatively cheap. If you have the springs off you should probably replace the stuts, too, though - if the spring was old enough to break the stut is probably blown on both sides, too.
The Evap codes could be something other than the gas cap, but it's the easiest place to start. A smoke test is easy to do if the gas cap doesn't fix it. Otherwise don't worry about it if it doesn't affect the performance of the car.

CALLED IT! :p
when that happened to me i put in a quick stut kit in that corner. it comes with the spring, strut, bearings, and all other parts in the assembly already put together so all you have to do is pull the old assembly out and swap the new one in, its about a 15-20 min job. here it was only like 30-40 bucks more for the whole kit than buying just the spring and that way everything is new.
