Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor
Left hand front of the engine, in the air intake duct
That's what it says, I couldn't get a pic of it though.

I am not sure if the first gens are like the 2nd gens but the MAF and IAT are together.

if your mass air flow has 5 wire it's in it, if it has 3 wire it's elsewhere on the intake duct

thanks guys, I found it and so far my theory worked and I have overcome the problems I was having.....
