Well the alero has been acting wierd all kind of lights coming on trac off and stuff like that. Sometimes I hit my brakes at a stop light and the map lights come on ??!? Now tonight I came home and the maps lights wont go off. What position is the map lights supposed to be in on the rear view mirror when they are off ? pushed in or out ? I cant remember.

Now I got new lights coming on today like anti lock and today it stalled when I parked it. I went back out 10 minutes later it started right up with no lights on. The alero makes me drink whiskey.

Sounds like your bcm. Is the bottom of your windshield leaking by any chance? Check the seal under your windshield wipers

cool i see used ones on ebay but I think it would be best to do this through the dealership since it needs to be programmed. maybe its just a fuse or something i will let the gm dealer look at it for me

Could some of the stuff be (partially) due to the extreme cold we have had lately?

I got the all the lights from coming on and everything is great. Finally! But I still have an issue with my idle now. This only is when the car is warmed up and been running for about 20 minutes at least the idle will be at 600 rpm die a little bit and go back up to 1000 and back down to 600. Sometimes it wont do it all.
any ideas Im thinking maybe my o2sensor.

bump anyone know why my idle is like that ???? hmmm
O2 sensor is a good guess. You might as well replace it or the IAT sensor. IAT is cheaper but I am not sure it would cause the idle issue. All fuses in main panel are good? Also do you have the 3400 if so check the prongs on the MAF clip. If they are not lined up with the female clip you are sure to get a rough idle

Well, your O2 sensor really doesn't have anything to do with your idle. Let's start with the basics. Have you had a tune-up lately? Air filter, oil change, spark plugs etc...

Not sure where you heard that...:haha:
o2 sensor can easily mess your idle since it tells the computer to add more air or fuel to your cylinders.
I had a crazy jumping idle....fix...o2 sensor
You could have a crankshaft position sensor going out too

I've been lucky enough not to have any O2 sensor issues on a newer vehicle...yet. At least not one that affects how the car runs.

yeah my fuses are good I replaced all of them since I had that leak with water running on my fuse box cover. Im going to replace the IAT and o2 sensor and see what happens thanks dude agt
Funny thing is that you don't have a code thrown. You might still try to get it read at Autozone just in case

Yes, funny, but there could be a code stored in the history, just not throwing an engine light. Get it checked before you go spending money replacing stuff.
