for the few of you that have the black header, how long did it take for the burning smell to go away? It's not too bad, but it's kind of annoying.

I would guess after the paint all burns off, the smell will go away :thumb:

Finally got the full exhaust on? Or just the header for now?

hah the painted shit is terrible, pacesetter is known for that. should've got it JET-HOT coated, it's going to rust without it.

Could use that flame proof paint.

I was planing on getting hihg heat powder coat on the front header next year, but without the Delta to drive around while the Alero's down, that's not going to work

Might paint it with the high heat paint, unless I hear otherwise.

What kind of paint does Pacesetter use?

the paint they use on it is just to protect it while being stored before someone buys it.

It is advised to clean it off, and coat it or whatever else you may choose.

it's all on now...still gotta get it welded (clamps). sounds really good, and it seems like there's no leaks. not bad for a DIY if I say so myself. :D

how do you clean it off when they painted the inside too? lol

I just let it all burn off. I never coated mine when I had it. It also never rusted when I had it.

my original header was almost all rust...makes me worry about this one. but the burning smell is all gone now. so I'd say about 40 miles of driving would get rid of it.

We'll have to meet up somewhere, even if it's just for a few minutes. I'd like to hear it :thumb:

And I just happen to own a welding machine...
