you can read about it in the manual...and it shows it on the radio and dash...but i see no effects lol

it will cut the fuel pump should it detect any kind of tampering or suspicious behaviour.. such as a crappy key, old cylinder, or sometimes even tripping for no apparent reason.

^^ You forgot the theft of the car ;)

GM cars back in the day were VERY easy to steal. All you had to do was break the ing lock, which was also easy, and turn the cyl without the key and the start would start.

Well Gm beat that rep by putting in a crappy passlock system that is so good, sometimes it prevents the owner from driving away in their own car :rolleyes2:

And often times the thief didn't really have to break anything. Just pop a flathead screwdriver into the keyhole, a quick twist and they were on their merry way.

Hahaha my 86 Camaro didnt need a key to start it either.
