I dont have premium gas in the alero right now, but was wondering if I can still install the DHP? Or do I have to wait to get premium gas....I dont want to hurt the chip or my car?

Its not the chip that would get hurt, its the engine.

One of the thing the chip does is that it advance the timing of the car a bit and if you dont have premium gas in it, you could have engine ping, and you don't want that.

Wait till you put premium in.

It should pull timing when it sees less than 91 octane. I would install it and top off with the premo. Should work fine.
