Hey everyone. I just started making a few mods to my alero. Nothing major. Anyways, I cleared its corners, got its tails smoked, and did an audio transplant from my delta. My old pics are in the car domain, in case you haven't seen them. These are my new pics.

I like the wheels...though they are too small for a modded car, IMO. If those were OEM wheels, that would be great...

nice clean ride. :thumb:

Thanks for the compliment. The wheels are pretty small, but they are the ones that came on my car. In a couple months, hopefully, Ill be getting 17's

Thanks everyone. The subs sound pretty good, but I had to lower the gain on the amp by like half and move the balance a little to the front, otherwise the bass would overpower the treble. As for hiding the wires, I did try, but I don't know how. Me and my friend ran a few of them under the spare tire cover, and the others to the side.

How'd you smoke the tails?

Valley olds

^ I took them to a paint shop, but from what I understand, they mix a little black paint (or a lot depending on how dark you want it) with a bunch of clear. So if you have the tools and know-how you can probably do it yourself.

good choice in audio, those older rockfords are great, as long as it wasn't one of the best buy ones...

Ian 2000GL LA1 good choice in audio, those older rockfords are great, as long as it wasn't one of the best buy ones... Me use a best buy amp... never :ninja: Jk It is a best buy amp. I still havent had any problems with it though. What is bad about best buy amps?

oldskid33 who smoked the tails? I sent them to a paint shop in Roma called US 83 auto collision. Wouldn't really recommend them though. :cough: http://www.aleromod.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23999

CactusWill I never really cared about the cleared corners thing, but damn cleared corners on white looks hot. How much does that cost btw? If you mean the clear corners, all you need to buy (if you already have tools) is the silicone. The reason I didnt do it before was, I couldnt afford silicone lol

billytheman1188 Good start!! Now lower it, and color match the WHOLE mirror and your golden I do want to lower it later, the mirrors Im thinking Id like black better though. My plans are to have a white, black, and chrome theme. I am thinking of later getting the black rims with polished lip, and maybe the black mesh grill, and Im set.

eh it's just things im picky about, like i have had a couple one the soildering was poor quality, and the other the ground and powerblocks threaded into plastic, that soon stripped out. ambae it was bad luck for me, but my stuff goes in and out of my car alot.

Looking cool, not feeling the wheels but they are different. I like the smoked tails...how long did it take and what product did you use?

You have a usb jack and you are running a flash drive....Pull that out and get yourself a 300gb 3.5" external usb hard drive, and put it in the glove box or mount it down in the cubby or something creative.

I want to find a deck with the usb port on the rear, so that I can pull this off...I've been thinking about it for awhile now.

I sent the tails to a paintshop. What they used was automotive clear with a little black paint.

The external sounds like an awesome idea. A friend of mine tried to do that thing with the external on his, but it didn't work. His is last years JVC though, so maybe there were some changes on that. Just something you may want to research before buying the HU.

How much to get those done at a paint shop?

I have a jvc with a usb port and tried pluggin in a external harddrive just a 120gb and the stereo didn't put out enough power through the usb port to power it so i doubt it would work unless the harddrive had a seperate plug in for power and you had an invertor too.

Well, heres some new pics. Basically, I polished my valve cover a little more by hand. This is probably where I stop (at least by hand). Also got the front and rear STB from z-spec.

"Valley Olds" is a small "car club" me and a cousin are in. Its just us two. His delta, my delta, and my Alero all have the logo. I want to get more members, but there arent really many fixed olds in the valley, and we dont really want to stain "valley olds" image.

when you get your 17's, I'll be interested in your current rims.

go get some VHT Nightshades (it's spray on tint that you can only buy on the internet.) and there's a how-to on here somewhere...
