does anybody know of an easy way to get all the interior lights(minus the gauge cluster) to run off of a switch?

i want to be able to switch them on and off instead of them being on constantly when i open the door...i would like to keep them in for visibilty in case i need to look for something in my car and i dont want to change the color bc i want it to light up where and when i want it to light up(i know im being picky:p)

even if anybody knows of a wiring diagram i could look at that would be great

You have that control.. its the interior lights dimmer. when you turn it all the way up to the point where it clicks. the interior lights comes on, until you unclick it by pushing down a notch.

so wire them to the that power wire.... but STILL put a switch on it. so you can still turn it on and off, if need be.

but if you connect it to that wire (in the dimmer switch) they will only turn on at night, when your drl's turns off and headlights turn on.

why would it? your ONLY putting a switch on the power wire, between the outlet (where you splice into it) and the interior lights, that you added.

if the switch is turned off, it would only turn off the things downstream in the circuit.

oh. thats gonna much trickier....

each has its own power wire, and if you tap into the one that supplies them all, then yes, that will kill your gauges.

so you'd need to bring them all into some kind of relay system, or something.

post one up, even if you don't do it right. we can still tweak/correct it after the fact to make it more efficient, if need be.
