My car is currently at 99,987 miles. Is there anything I need to look out for once she hits 100,000. Struts need to be replaced? The car IS riding a bit rough, and my struts make a little noise at times. The brakes are getting looked at since it's been two years since they were last changed. Other than that, she is running just fine. So my main question is, is there anything coming up that might happen to my car that I need to look out for? Any issues that usually comes up around 100,000 miles?

I would also replace the struts. And while I'm not sure on these cars, I'd be carefully looking at the tie rod ends and replacing the transmission fluid.
If you aren't already doint it on a regular basis, change your brake fluid.

Read the manual ;) If you don't have one, I'll look into mine for you if necessary.

i would only change the struts if they need it. my buick century has over 170k miles on the original struts and the struts are fine.

Maintance calls for struts to be changed every 50K.

I changed mine at 62K but they were getting bad ;)

See the only thing is.... I'm not sure what all the previous owner did... I bought the car with 56,000 miles on her. She is now hitting 100,000. Haven't changed the transmission fluid or brake fluid, and the struts are making creaking/squeaking noises when I go over train tracks or hit bumps in the road. I think they need to be replaced.

i have 103K so far and original struts. if the car isn't noticeably sagging or if they aren't overly bouncy, you are good for now. a test, i've been told, is to push down on the trunk and when the pressure is released, the car should return to its normal position and not bounce anymore. same with the front end.

I'll do that. Thanks! I will be getting the brakes checked this week. They are two years old and have not been checked since I had them put on... Car still stops really well although I have noticed some squeaking coming from them recently so I think it's time they need to be replaced...

Other than that, looks like it's just normal maintenance and getting the transmission fluid and brake fluid changed.

That seems unlikely. I'd say that you don't know how to check, or your car is a freak of nature. I changed the ones in my Escort at 115,000

if you think the car is riding wierd or sagging, change the struts. i didn't think mine was that bad but its a world of difference.

i was told i need to change my struts.... but my car doesn't sag at all. i think they just wanted extra money. i HATE when mechs try to scare you into emptying your walllet...
