your wheels/tires are only 1/2" wider in diameter

I heard of 235's being OK, but 245's could rub in the front.

Of course this was with 18" wheels

C2;381895']your wheels/tires are only 1/2" wider in diameter
closer to 3/4", but that's splitting hairs lol

You'll be alright as long as you have a good offset. my tires are 225/45/17...and I have about 1.5-2" clearance from the springs, and I could stand to drop her even more.

No. Width side to side increases 0.8" and width top to bottom increases 0.5." I was measuring the top to bottom height as I inferred he was concerned with overall diameter, considering he mentioned his ride height with lowering springs.

I had 18's on my Alero and I lowered my car the wrong way.....lower than any lowering spring can get you at unless you get air ride and I was fine. Might rub if you hop after a bump so watch out!

So mine has a +38mm offset, and its a 17" tire with 245/45/17s, will t work or not? on a 1.5-1.6 inch drop.

Yeah you'll be fine. I had 18" rims with 225/40-18 tires with a 2" drop and there wasn't any rubbing at all.

Ya, definitely OK with 255s if the offset is right.
