I need to know what muffler offer the the most sound suppression? Needs a 3" in 2.25" dual outlet max length 25" and can be hidden.

This would work but I need to get a reducer. Does a reduce affect noise after the muffler?

Let me ask you this so I can give you a better answer to your question... what's more important to you, having the exhaust super quiet or getting the most flow out of it? What's the reducer for?

The reduce is to reduce the 3" to 2.25". Flow is important but so is a quiet ride. henceforth the dual outlet for higher flow, but i need to keep the sound down which is why I'm limiting the outlet size. The question is the chamber itself, I've cut open a 750 muffler and its chamber alot differently than our cars. That why i need to find a good flow muffler that offers the high noise suppression possible.

If you reduce a 3" pipe down to 2.25" that'll just about kill your flow if you're making good power. A very quiet muffler isn't going to flow real great, and a high flowing muffler isn't going to be super quiet. What I would do is go with 3" exhaust pipe with a long resonator into a large 3" straight thru muffler that has dual 2.5" outlets. It's going to flow the best for you. It's not going to be stock noise level at all, but it won't be super loud.

power should never be sacrificed for the sake of preference lol. but anyway if you want a quieter muffler. I believe that magnaflow offers a fairly low and conservative tone without any major loss in flow.

Hmmmm, another OSV potential exhaust for center of bumper if someone chose to use it.

Dynomax Super Turbo's supposed to be the quietest muffler out there that performs excellent. I want one that flows more than stock but is as close to completely silent as possible.

^ Ive got that one on the delta and it is very quiet. I would usually have to tell friends I have an aftermarket muffler cus they couldn't tell. As for performance, it also flowed pretty good. I don't know how it will sound on an alero though.

alerosaint's getting it very soon, can't wait to see if it's actually quiet since his setup will then be basically identical to what i planned to do

Ion's going to be scary as hell. You won't hear him coming until after he's gone.

A friend of mine had a dynomax super turbo at the end of his no cat, no resonator 4G63T engine (eagle talon FWD Turbo engine) on 2.25 piping and it was surprisingly quiet.
That engine was in a 1987 dodge colt. He was doing 13.9 on the 1/4 mile, fun car.

So I went ahead and looked up these Super Turbo mufflers from Dynomax. These pics are from the Dynomax website. I figured I'd throw some info out for anyone wanting to know about mufflers.
This is the Super Turbo muffler. It is a reverse flow type muffler, obviously because the flow reverses. It will flow quite a bit more than stock, but not as good as a straight thru muffler...not to say it wouldn't do the job, as this would be a better muffler if you're more concerned about the sound rather than flow, but for an all out build, a straight thru muffler would be a better choice. The fact that it does reverse the exhaust flow is one of the reasons why it's probably so quiet.
As much as I don't like baffled or reverse flow mufflers, I do like the fact that there's at least the "flow directors" to help smooth out the flow a little.

This is Dynomax's Ultra Flo welded muffler which is a straight thru type muffler. The exhaust flow doesn't turn or reverse or get blocked by baffles, it's completely unrestricted. This is the best type of muffler to get in terms of flow. It'll be louder than the Super Turbo or other baffled or reverse flow mufflers, but it'll also flow better.
This is the type of muffler Magnaflow and Vibrant use. The bigger the muffler, the quieter it'll be. So if you wanted the best flowing exhaust that isn't really loud, you're best bet would be a long resonator that uses the same straight thru construction, along with the biggest straight thru muffler you can fit under the car.
