STFA but didn't find a solution. My vents are stuck on the dash vents, can't switch to defroster, floor, etc. I pulled the center of the console out yesterday, all the hoses seemed to be intact, the knob properly turned the switch, and you could hear/feel vacuum when a line was pulled off. The hot/cold selector works properly. I traced the lines to behind the glove box, but was running out of daylight so I reasembled the car. Going to pull the glovebox out tonight. Anyone have this problem or know what I should be looking for? btw 2003 2.2eco 5spd.

OK, ripped the whole underside of the dash out. It seems that the piece that actually moves the vent is stuck, down and slightly left of the radio. But i could not figure out what holds this piece in. It is really tight under there. Anyone have a diagram or any help?

I have a spare HVAC module out of the car. I can take a look at it and try to snap a few pictures when I get home, but that won't be until Sunday evening.

did you actually take out the entire center console piece and look at the 4 plugs going to the HVAC controls? im a little confused as to what the problem is.

Sorry if I'm not explaining this great. The knob and controls seem to be working fine as best as I can tell, and it is somewhere after the knob where the problem lies. I traced the small hoses coming out of the knob and found several vent actuators. not sure on what these things are called, but the part that the hose enters and moves a flap in the vents. The one actuator that sits in, down, and left from the radio (I could see it with the radio removed or from the drivers floor looking up) seemed to be stuck and I was unable to move it with my hand. So I am assuming this actuator for the vent flap is stuck and needs to be replaced. I was able to find one screw holding it in, but there seem to be more screws that I could not find. Thanks for your help.
