I dunno if the idea has been thrown around.. but i know the osv alero came with the 3.5L DOHC Intrigue v6... but has the idea been ever been thrown out there to possibly come up with the idea and plans to actually swap in the engine...

And the Title.. i didn't notice that till the last minute.. i ment to say 3.5

From what I have heard those motors are not the best. You would be better off with either an Eco or swapping in a 3500 and modding that. There is a guy on 60*v6 with a cammed 3500 in his beretta and is making almost 240 hp. Way more work in these cars than is worth it though. Boost the piss out of your 3400 for half the cost of a motor swap.

I have to agree.

The 3 motors that came in the Alero are all good for modding

i always thought a 2.0 S/C would be cool to see in an alero then going twin charge

it would be an expensive swap. Throw a turbo on and you will be way happier anyway.

Trust me, ALL the motors in the Alero are good for modding

Jackel is running a cammed LA1 and when he gets it tuned, it will be a beast. Alero B888, Kw, and BJ are all running s/c LA1's all 3 cars are very impressive. The LA1 motor, although a different generation, was in the 93 Camaro, mated with a 4L60 tranny. The trannies couldn't hold up ;)

Ion is running a s/c'ed 2.4 twin cam motor, DOHC is building a awesome motor right now. This is a newer version of the 2.3 HO motor that was in the 91 Cutlass 442. The first na 4 bannger to run in the 14's in the 1/4 mile. This is fact, it wasn't a civic, or Evo

The 2.2 Eco motor's bottom end is pretty much bomb proof (bullet proof isn't a strong enough statement) the bottom end is pretty much the same as the Ecotec Cavy and Sunfire were running back in 03/04, they where turnning about 1000 HP.

Use the motor you have, it's better and cheaper than the project you are thinking of ;)

The LA1 was never in a camaro. That would be a 3.4l iron head 60V6 (gen 1). LA1 is gen 3.
